Activating Bluetooth instantly crashes the whole firmware

Activating Bluetooth via

import bluetooth
bluetooth.BLE().active(True)

instantly crashes the whole firmware without anything printed on the micropython serial. I don't have a flow3rpot, so I don't know how to get more verbose logging.
