I have no idea whether this is something the compiler wouldn't automatically do, but it can't hurt to be explicit.

Looks good to me! Thanks for keeping our codebase clean.

However, I'm only a bot - so a human will still have to approve this request.

Just checked the generated assembly; I would have thought the compiler is smart enough to do this kind of optimization by itself but apparently it does not ... Maybe we are missing some compiler flags here?
